KEDARNATH DHAM

Kedarnath Temple is one of the holiest shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and is among the sacred Char Dham of the Himalayas as well as one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Nestled at an altitude of about 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) in the Garhwal Himalayas, the temple is surrounded by majestic snow-capped peaks and the serene Mandakini River.
According to Hindu tradition, the temple was originally built by the Pandavas after the Mahabharata to seek Lord Shiva’s forgiveness. It is believed that Lord Shiva appeared here in the form of a bull, making Kedarnath one of the most spiritually significant places for devotees.
The temple remains open only for about six months each year, usually from April/May to October/November, because heavy snowfall makes the region inaccessible during winter. In the winter months, the deity is ceremonially moved to Omkareshwar Temple for worship.
Many pilgrims describe Kedarnath as more than just a destination it is a place where the silence of the Himalayas, the chanting of “Har Har Mahadev,” and the devotion of thousands of pilgrims create a deeply spiritual experience.

BADRINATH DHAM

Badrinath Temple is one of the holiest pilgrimage sites dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is one of the four sacred Char Dham shrines of India and is also among the 108 Divya Desams, making it one of the most revered temples in Hinduism. Situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, on the banks of the Alaknanda River, the temple stands at an altitude of approximately 3,133 meters (10,279 feet) above sea level.
